BIO

Mathematician and Forever a Student

Though I was originally born in Tacoma Washington, I've spent the majority of my life in the Charleston area and went through South Carolina's public education system.

Towards the end of my high school years I found that I had a talent for explaining math and science concepts to my classmates. I found myself going to the College of Charleston to increase my aptitude in mathematics and to train myself to become an educator.

I felt, like many who pursue the education track, that with my talent and passion I would be able to change the lives of students for the better. I want to nurture the embers of enjoying a subject into the flames of passionate study. I am registered as an educator in South Carolina and plan to begin a teaching career after finishing my Master's Degree.

Now as a graduate student, I find myself understanding that even though I'd like to be a teacher, I will always remain a student who desires to learn more and more every day.

I believe it's with this unique perspective that I am able to be a connecting point between teacher and student, because of my experience in both roles.
